I realized that I am a bit behind in my blog. So here is my HUGE update. So, I am going to work my way backwards, so if you want to read everything in event order, start with Large ONES towards the bottom and work your way up to the large SIXES. Six six six six Six On Thursday, I was on I-94. The roads were horrible. I saw at least 11 cars in the ditch, 12 if you count me. There was a four car accident on the other side, and at one point I saw a car blocking traffic while at least two other vehicles were off the freeway in the snow. If you're saying "wait! wait! what about you!!" then you have read correctly. I was driving a little too fast, completely lost control of the car, fish-tailed, and ended up about 30-40 feet from the freeway. Physically I was okay, but I had never lost control of my car like this before. The hardest part was being alone in a new situation I wasn't comfortable with. I waited for an hour before a tow truck came to pull me out. I know that God was telling me to slow down, but I wasn't listening. I know that God was watching out for me. I know that I was lucky I wasn't closer to any other vehicle. I know that I am lucky I didn't get hurt. I thank God that he keeps me safe, even when I am not listening or following His advice. Five Five Five FIVE For New Years Eve, I went to Megan's house. Kerry, Natalie, Susie, Liam.
Lauren & Liam, Megan & Natalie.
Adam and Dave lounge on the couch while Kyle makes a funny face :)
We ended up exchanging Christmas gifts as part of the celebration. Adam laughs about getting the book, "Bunny Suicides 2."
Megan and Lauren show their new goat and monkey ornaments.
Adam's GI Joe and Lauren's flying cat battle till the end! (I'm not really sure who won on this one...)
Since Megan currently has no one living below her, we took advantage of the situation...DDR!!
Happy New Year!
Four Four Four Four On December 30th Carla and Kerry came over to keep me company. We played Mystery at Hogwarts, 7-up (the card game) and N64 games: Pokemon, Mario Kart and Goldeneye (cause we wanted to play 007 one last time in 2007). At one point, Kerry ended up posing for a picture. Her eyes look a little weird though, don't they? Three Three three It snowed on December 28th and was gorgeous outside!
I had forgotten my work coat at home, so I had to borrow a coworker's coat.
Two TWO Two Two Two Two December 27 Eric, Tom, Kerry and I played a few games of pool. Tom, who was on my team, was very good at distracting Kerry. Despite Tom's efforts, Eric and Kerry won most of the games.
(Tom trying to avoid the camera) Switching teams, Eric and I played against Kerry and Tom in Pictionary, just narrowly beating them to win the game.
God really blessed me with great friends like these. While I made grilled cheese sandwiches for everyone, Tom, Kerry and Eric put together my new filing cabinet. I have such awesome friends! Thanks guys!

One One One One One One For Christmas Eve, I went to my grandparents' house. (Here's Grandma)
We had a wonderful dinner together. At one point, my aunt had her fill of alcohol (Please see picture above)...(Okay, so James had drunk most of it, but in our family we give my aunt Debbie a hard time whenever she drinks, so I may have moved the two bottles in front of her for a blackmail picture )
I had made the comment to some people that I didn't have many pictures of my sister Vicki, so I made sure I got some good ones of her. This was actually picture number four, as this was the first shot she was actually looking up when I took the picture).
Later I asked Carla to take a picture of Vicki and me, so I squeezed in between Vicki and Matt (Jill was on the other side of Matt).
Carla took a picture, then Kerry came over to take one, and soon enough, the whole paparazzi of aunts and cousins were there! It was like 2 full minutes on constantly seeing flashes of light. It was great! (Although...I think Vicki, Matt, and Jill weren't as happy about it. Jill said she couldn't see anything after they were finally finished!
This is Matt and Jill before the paparazzi came.
This bow was used as a joke on a gift for her sister Jill. Kerry thought it was so funny she even used it herself!

Jill originally picked this up cookie because she thought it was a "J" for Jill, but was corrected by Jessie when she said it was a "J" for Jessica.
These sisters attempted to sing a song older than me.

On Christmas Day, we had our traditional pancakes, sausage and bacon. Here's Vicki helping out with the pancakes.
Later she saw my new apartment. It was great just being able to talk with her and spend some quality time together since I only see her once or twice a year.
My family also exchanged gifts. My mom received a cd from someone she didn't expect! Before Christmas, I met up with someone, or something I didn't expect! |
